Tutee no 1 and 2 received their report books today. Haiz. One word:

S.I.G.H

Tutee no 2 failed English and Maths. Class position - 15/35. Haha. Not bad liao. There are abt 20 ppl behind him. He's not the worst.

I am more disappointed in Tutee no 1. She was ranked no 49 out of 236 pupils in her cohort last yr and so was allocated to Class B. Thus,by right,she should be among the top 5 in Class B(considering the fact that the first 44 pupils went to Class A). BUT,alas! Her class position this time is 35 out of 43. OMG. How can??? The silly wrote-out-of-point-for-Chinese-compo mistake caused her to get only 75% for Chinese,which is her strongest subject. -.- She practised so much for Maths,and yet she scored only 55%. Lowest in class somemore. Only Science marks improved by leaps and bounds. Ok~,her English improved by 3 marks la. Agg score - 213. Eh,she cannot even get into Gan Eng Seng with this agg score lor. And her aunt expects her to get into River Valley High!? A bit impossible la. Aiya,dunno la.

More oil must be pumped into them. Yeah~

Oh,Tutee no 1 made a funny comment just now. I was looking at her brother's report book when she suddenly asked me,"为什么弟弟的成绩这么差，还可以排名15???" I wanted to burst out laughing when i heard her qn coz the way she said it was so funny. She looked so 忿忿不平.

Eh,it cannot be seen like that de la.....her brother is in the bottom class of the whole cohort. So she cannot compare her class position with her brother.

ANYWAY,class position is not impt. I just want them to improve!!!!!

Hmm....i'm much more alert now after sleeping,so here's some updates abt my trip!

My flight to BKK was at 7.10am! And so,i woke up at 4 am last Thurs morning and my cousin's fren came to fetch us to the airport. Woah! Our Changi Airport is already buzzling with activity at 5.50 am!!!!! So many ppl were at the airport at that time! Hmm,the world's BEST airport is like that. I'm so proud of XIN JIA PO! Anyway,back to the topic. And yeah,this is the Jetstar plane that took me to BKK:

I stayed in Grand Diamond Hotel,and Baiyoke Sky Hotel is somewhere opposite mine. Baiyoke Sky is the tallest? hotel in BKK and so,i took a pic of it.




In front of Baiyoke Sky Hotel are many many shopping malls(look small on the outside but very "comprehensive" inside). My cousin and her frens(5 shopping queens in all)spent so much time there! They can spend TWO hours in just ONE shop alone! :O And the queen of shopping queens,which is my cousin,spent most of her money on the very FIRST day in BKK! OMG! They really noe how to shop man. And they chose a hotel that is just beside a fashion mall. And so we went to Platinum Fashion Mall(beside our hotel)EVERYDAY! U noe,it has more than 1300 shops which sell all kinds of stuff like accessories for women,fashionable apparel,kids' stuff,delicious food etc etc. And yeah,we did not get sick of it though we went there everyday. Haha. And when my mom and i were tired,we went to Black Canyon Coffee for a break. I drank my oh-so-temptingly-delicious Cafe Latte. They gave us complimentary biscuits that came in alphabet and number shapes and they taste nice too!!!! Yum yum yum! See my Cafe Latte:

In addition,one thing i like abt gng on overseas trips is that,i can haf a sumptuous breakfast daily! This is my favourite:

Oh yes,i mentioned that my cousin and her fren bought extra bags to bring back the products of their shopping spree right? They bought this - "China" bags(u noe,the big rectangular bag that has blue,red and white stripes?). We call them China bags. Anyway,now they come in all sorts of cute designs like Disney characters. Quite cute la,hor? 1 for 100 Baht,which is ard S$4++.

LOL.

It's alr 11.17pm and i only just finished packing my stuff for the BKK trip. Phew! Seriously,the bad thing abt gng overseas is that we haf to pack and pack and pack. And oh,i'm supposed to wake up at FOUR am on Thurs,which is just.....5 hours later??? Haha. And i'm still here blogging. Aww.....speaking of that,i'm gonna miss my com!!!!!

Just to sidetrack,i brought my tutee no 1 and 2 to my house today to play online EDUCATIONAL games. See,i'm a nice tutor. LOL. I believe in letting children LEARN through playing interesting games other than doing assessment books.

Haiz.....intensive tuition for Tutee no 1 and 2 after i come back from my trip le.....Tutee no 2 failed 2 out of 4 subjects! Eeeks! No way! i WANT him to improve next sem! And Tutee no 1 is not performing up to my expectations.....worse thing is that she doesnt seem worried for her PSLE at all. Oh dear.

Ahhhhhh.....i shall forget all these worrying matters for the time being and enjoy myself in BKK. Woohoo~

Just kill me.

I've gotten a rude shock yesterday. Initially when I saw my tutee no 1 studying practising so hard for her Maths exams,i thot her Maths grade would improve. BUT,i was wrong. Not only did she NOT improve,she scored the lowest in her class for Maths. Highest mark in her class - 93%. What did she get?

55%

*gasp*

True,tutee no 1 is usually QUITE weak in her Maths,but she has never gotten such a low score before. I am so worried for her. This is her PSLE year lo. And it's not like she didnt practise. She DID. Even with so much practice,she still gets 55%??? Oh my. Oh dear. =( It really pains me to see my tutees doing so badly when i THOUGHT that they have improved albeit,slightly.

Now,Tutee no 1 already knew(sort of)the marks for 2 subjects. Chinese A* GONE. Maths - 55%. I have no mood to know the rest of her grades. I mean,not anxious anymore. 希望越大，失望就越大。

And there's worse. Her brother,Tutee no 2,scored 37/100 for his Maths. Shoot me. 58% for CA1 dropped drastically to 37% for SA1??? What is he doing? I thought his Maths is ok. Usually when he got 50++,i already felt that it was good enough,considering the fact that he MIGHT BE dyslexic.

SET. They MUST have tuition THREE times a week during the school hols. And i MUST think of better ways to help them improve.

Hmm...havent been updating for the past 4 days. Anyway,that's not very long right? haha.

Finally my tutees' exams are all over! Yay! I can relax liao! But now im waiting anxiously for their results. Haiz...i had expected my tutee no 1 to score an A* for her Chinese,but alas! She said she wrote out of point for her Chinese Compo and thus,she only scored 11 out of 40 for it! Tsk Tsk Tsk. I have alr done the calculations. Even if she get full marks for Chinese List Compre and the Paper 2,her overall mark for Chinese will only be 80%,which is an A. And she didnt know abt it until i told her last night. I told her that the max she can get for Chinese is 80% and she was so disappointed. Actually,she will only get 70++ coz she scored 49/50 for part 1 of paper 2 and 13/15 for List Compre. She asked me(after i told her abt the 80% thing),"Huh! That means i will only get 70++ for Chinese???" YUP. Haiz. See,writing OUT OF POINT for compositions is really a serious problem. Anyway,now i am hoping that she would show improvement in her English,Maths and Science. *prays* As for her academically-weak brother,i only hope that he can get >56% for English,otherwise,it will be a FAIL for his English overall(CA1+SA1 combined mark). I told my mum how weak in their studies my tutees are and she suggested that i bring Tutee no 2 to our house once a week and i guide him in his studies without charging him. Hmm,can try. And actually,i feel that Tutee no 1 and 2 should have tuition 3 times a week during the coming school hols as they are weaker in their studies. Hmm,i shall consult their parents on this idea. Haha. It will also mean that i can get my tuition pay faster! Hohoho.

Lalala.....feel like bringing 2 of my tutees out on a shopping-cum-educational trip tomorrow. They are really like frogs in the well,you know. Kids should be exposed to the external world,the world outside their house,in order to widen their general knowledge and vocabulary. Anyone wants to join me tomorrow? Im bringing them to Plaza Singapura. Free shuttle bus from my house. Oh yeah~

Meanwhile,right now,i am waiting for the verdict of Christopher Lee's drink-driving case to be out. So worried la. I hope everything will be fine......

Haiz. Jus read the newspapers. Christopher Lee is sentenced to 4 weeks jail and a $4500 fine. He's gng to appeal. Again,i hope everything will be fine. But even if it isnt,take it as a harsh lesson learnt. Who doesn't make mistakes?

Btw,last night my Tutee no 3 told me about a Pri 1 boy(same sch as him) who fainted in school on Tues and died yesterday. I read abt it in the morning newspapers today too. Life is really unpredictable.....it's only a 7 year old boy.....

I really want to thank Buddha for blessing my mother.....everything's all right for now. I will keep praying. =)

I went to my 二姑丈's wake just now. Although i seldom saw him when he was alive(maybe 4 or 5 times a year),i felt sad abt his death. When i was offering joss-sticks to him,my mom said "Tell er gu zhang to hao hao shang lu". And while i said it,i felt a tinge of sadness in me,seeing his photo. Haiz. Life is indeed unpredictable.

Anyway,may 二姑丈 rest in peace.

Suddenly my mind is in a total blank.....dunno what to blog le. Bye.

I feel SICK when ppl(esp a certain YOU)keep telling me that being a teacher is a tough,stressful and work-hard-but-earn-so-little job. Why cant YOU just be more mature in your thinking? MONEY IS NOT EVERYTHING. True,钱不是万能的，但没有钱却万万不能。BUT,心灵上的满足也很重要。Come on,we dun have to be in a certain profession jus because it brings in LOTS of money k? I,for one,am NOT a person who is attracted to a high paying job. Yeah,i admit earning A LOT of money (and thus,getting rich faster)is an enticing thing,BUT what matters to ME most is MY INTEREST. So what if being a teacher is tough,stressful and time-consuming?(teachers have to spend time doing lesson plans,setting and marking exam papers,deal with parents' complaints,etc etc)I LIKE IT! And i am definitely NOT silly or stupid or psychotic to want to stress myself like that. It was my childhood ambition to be a teacher and nothing can make me change my mind for now. NOT even a higher pay. So please STOP giving me dirty looks when i told you that i insist on becoming a teacher ok? i HATE the dirty look that YOU gave me jus now when we were chatting in Coffee-bean. What's wrong with being a teacher? You like to work in a ---- and earn a HIGH pay,that's to your own liking and interest. Similarly,i like to "ill-treat" myself and be a earn-lower-pay teacher,cannot meh? You just mind your own business and STOP suggesting i change my job can? Other frens can understand why i insist on being a teacher and they stop harping on the amount of pay,so why should YOU bother? I noe you are probably showing concern as a fren and so suggest that i dun be a teacher,but i really dun care about how much i earn,ok? And for your info,you think teachers' pay will remain stagnant de meh? And you think i will be contented with being a normal-rank teacher? Of course i will strive to be promoted la! DUH. So what if it's hard to be promoted to higher ranks? At least it's challenging! And i gain satisfaction by helping ppl(students).

I am NOT trying to quarrel with anyone here but please,RESPECT my decision to be what i want to be,can?

p/s. I seldom go out doesnt mean i am a boring person or Mummy's girl. I jus want to be with my family(esp my mum)because i love them and want to be there for them when they are around. Why keep going out? I am not saying that we youngsters should stay home all the time to be with the family,but have you spared a thought for your parents? Maybe they will love to have your company. Treasure them when they are still around,ok? Dun wait till they are not around anymore then you regret that you havent been with them all along. BTW,i am NOT cursing anyone here. Dun be mistaken. I like to hang around with frens too,but once a week with the SAME gang is a bit over le bah? Surely there are also other "gangs" too?

Grrr....i think im catching a cold again. I have been sneezing for the past few hours? Yeeks! I was alright when i woke up! What's wrong with me? I caught a cold YESTERDAY,5 days ago etc etc. HELP!!!!!

Anyway,i still cannot find a temp job. Argh. Actually the agent found 2 2-wk-long jobs for me but the 1st one was at an inaccessible location(from my place)and the 2nd one? Well,the agent sent my resume to that company but there has been no reply since Wed. And the agent didnt call me again. So i'm looking for other recruit agents again. Haiz. I seriously hope i can find a temp job after i come back from BKK. Mum has been nagging at me to step out of the house - to work or to take up enrichment courses. It's not that I dun wan to la.

And yeah,im chatting with my working fren and cousin now via email. LOL. See,they arent concentrating on their work! OOPS. Haha. My fault for "disturbing" them.

WAH!!!!!

I received TWO shocking news today.

Shock no 1:

My 2nd aunt's husband(aka my gu1 zhang4)passed away suddenly at 2+ am. And my aunt called us up in the wee hours of the morning jus to inform us abt the death. My family was awakened at 5++ AM. And i had a hard time falling asleep after that. Anyway,that's not the point im trying to emphasize. Ok,so,im shocked that my gu zhang passed away. He looked healthy all this while. And his death happened so fast la.

Shock no 2:

My 3rd uncle's son(aka my tang2 ge1)is getting married NEXT WEEK! Without informing us - his very close(by blood) extended family! They did not inform my family,they did not inform my other aunts' families,they did not inform my other uncles' families! And my tang ge is holding his wedding ceremony in CHINA! Coz he got himself a CHINA wife! -.- OMG. This is so HAPPENING and extremely shocking la. My mum learnt abt this news at gu zhang's wake and she came home feeling very agitated,calling up my other aunts frantically to ask them if they knew. (Mom looked so funny jus now when she was agitated. LOL.) Aiya,dun inform us,then dun inform la. Can save an angbao. Why not? GOOD. No need to be so agitated la. Tsk.

Shock shock shock.

Oh,i jus rem. There's another tiny shock for me today. I asked my nephew to help me buy my favourite scented liquid paper(aka correction liquid) from his Poly and know wat? The liquid paper used to cost $3 last time;now it costs $4.50. Holy cow. Increase by 50%!!!!! Tsk.

I need sedative to calm me down.....

Hmm,anyway,i went to XXX recruit agency yesterday to hunt for temp jobs. The agent who spoke to me was very nice and friendly. She asked me if i was interested in looking for a permanent job(and i told her why i am not interested),what kind of temp positions im looking for,do i mind 5.5 days work week,how much i wanna be paid etc etc. Woo~ im so excited ok! i hope she can help me find a temp job successfully! As i told my fren,i wanna gain some work experience and some $$$ to last me for these 3 mths. There's a seemingly huge hole in my pockets,ya? Hahaha. If anyone wants me to give u a treat,please kindly wait till August,okie? Thanks. =D LOL. im saving for my BKK trip la.

Btw,thank you,my dearest cousin and also Apple. Thank you for asking me abt my cold and telling me to take care. Im so touched. Aww.....i love ya! Hahaha. My cold was not serious la.

I have a sudden urge to go to East Coast.....but i dont know how to cycle! Go there do what? Build sandcastles? Ooh~~~anyway,i miss the sun,sea and sand! Lalala.
