I jus realised that i forgot to mention in my previous post that i am also going to be in charge of one CCA in school - Scouts. *GASP* Why on earth was I the one chosen to replace my colleague who opted out of Scouts? Heh. But luckily i am only 1 of 2 female teachers in charge. I am not alone. Hehe. Anyway,being with scouts shld be quite fun bah? Hoho. I hope so.

Went back to school for Staff meeting today from 8.30am to 4++pm. :/ Longest ever that i've ever attended. But it's necessary,since we had to talk about 2008 matters. 2008. I wish it won't come so fast. Now i am going to dread it.

Congratulate me,people. *sarcasm intended*

I am going to be quite busy soon.

I am going to be:

1)the co-form teacher of a quite rowdy class,
2)in charge of Staff Welfare for my department (STUNNED!!!) and
3)one of the teachers in charge of Life Skills/Mentoring etc under Pupil Development Committee.

Why??? Maybe i slacked too much this year,so i have many things to do in 2008. Argh.

However,i also see all these new roles as challenges. Challenges that will hone me into a better teacher in future,i hope.

Anyway,enough of teaching matters. Ooh,i finally went to catch the movie The Warlords with Dear almost 2 weeks after it was released in cinemas. Owed him the movie outing for quite long le...felt so bad. Haha. Quite interesting movie,but there are quite a few gory scenes. Argh. Closed my eyes then. HA. First movie watched with Dear.

Im tired. Someone said i've got eyebags liao. Ooops. I must NOT have eyebags now. Not when i have to attend my cousin's wedding dinner this coming Sunday. HELP!

I jus realised that i haven blog about my treetop walk on Sunday.



Yup. On Sunday morning Dear and i reached Macritchie Reservoir at 8 am and after his friends arrived,we began our 5 + 5 = 10km(went up + came down) Treetop walk. We were lucky. The weather was just nice. I haven done any strenous exercise for veryyyyyyy long. This treetop walk is the first one in dunno-how-many-years that i've "conquered". Haha. But i don't regret it,cause i BELIEVE i've shed.....erm,a little weight. LOL. And it was great fun walking with Dear. Heehee. Oh,i seriously don't mind conquering the 10km Treetop walk every week,if it can help me lose some kilos. LOL. However we somewhat lost our way while coming down. Ended up almost on the main road(Upper Thomson!). Luckily,one of Dear's friends lived nearby and we went to her house to get a van to drive out for lunch and back to Macritchie. Hoho. Lunch at Longbeach was nice! I had a huge bowl of delicious Pork Ribs noodles. Yum yum yum.

BUT,of course there are negative consequences. Because i did not do any warm-up,now i am experiencing sore-ness in my butt and legs. Awww. I cannot walk properly now....have to walk slowly. Butt pain. Ha.

Ok. Gotta plan my schedule already. Bye!

Happy 冬至 festival,everyone!!!

It's the time of the year again whereby we eat tang yuan. Woohoo. As usual,i went to Cousin Huihui's hse to eat tang yuan. My aunt can make delicious tang yuan wor! =D I loveeeeeee it! And thank u so much to Cousin Huihui for kneading the tang yuan. Hahaha. But i didnt see a lot of the mixed-colour tang yuan leh. LOL. Playful cousin said she kneaded different-coloured dough into 1 tang yuan.

Anyway,it's a cool evening today.....drizzling outside. And i am suddenly wondering,why is it that i am not spending 冬至 with Dear too? HA. It's a time for reunion too mah. Why eh? I also dunno. Whatever. I am going out very early with him tomorrow.

Yes,I've finally gotten myself a dress to wear to my cousin's wedding. Phew! It's hard to find a dress that i really like...really very hard. Haha. Well,i've finally found one,but alas! Mum thinks i look a bit F.A.T in it. =( Which is...a little bit.....true.

Anyway.

Tutee no 1 went for her Sec 1 registration today. And bought her textbooks and uniforms as well. GASP. I saw the amount stated on the booklist. $269.75. Why on earth do secondary textbooks and uniforms and whatever-that-she-bought-in-sch cost so much nowadays??? No wonder in the recent newspapers it was stated that parents have to fork out about $110,000 to bring up a son. Bring up as in provide for his education from a small age to university. And for bringing up a daughter,it costs about $100,000. *shudders* Therefore,kids out there - Better treasure and treat ur parents well ok! They work so hard to provide for u! Yeah.

Oh. Tutee no 5's cousin's mother asked me to give the cousin tuition. She's going to Pri 6 next yr and well,another RVPS kid. Heh. All my 6 tutees come from 2 schs only - RVPS and Zhangde. Add 1 more Nan Hua High...that is,if i am really teaching Tutee no 1 Secondary Maths next yr. Anyway,im glad i know Tutee no 5's cousin too. Ever since she was a small baby. Easier to communicate that way,ya see. Ha.

Now,i really have to plan my schedule carefully. Hmm.

I have jus resumed tuition today after a 2-wk hiatus. Woo. And i have a piece of good news - Tutee no 2 achieved a Good Progress Award! He will be receiving a $50 cash voucher next month. Yay! It's Tutee no 2's first time getting such an award ok! I AM SO PROUD OF PANG XUEMING!

Anyway,i went to teach Tutee no 5 today too. She was quite obedient at first but after a while,she went back to her i-dun-wanna-do-work attitude. Heh. She's weak in her Composition Writing and Chinese conversational skills but she does not want to improve on them! HOW??? -.-

Oh,Tutee no 2's mother treated me to some durians just now. OMG!!! They are just so so so yummy-licious! I have not eaten durians for a longgggggg time and now,i enjoyed them so much. Yum yum yum. BUT alas! I cannot dun wanna eat a lot of them as they contain too much calories. Heh.

Whatever.

So sian.....back to my hectic tuition life again.....BUT i always look forward to the 8th lesson. HA HA.

继部长与高级公务人员，以及1万3700名管理执行人员的最新薪金配套出炉后，2万8000名教师的最新薪金配套相信也会在这一两星期里公布。

　　教育部政务部长吕德耀昨天出席丹戎巴葛集选区“乐龄阅读乐”计划发布会时受访说：“教师们将接到（加薪）好消息。”

　　吕德耀说：“教育部长尚达曼将公布细节。我们可以期待将被引进的改变会确保教师的薪金保持市场竞争力。”

　　根据可靠消息，新的教师薪金制在这一两星期内公布。

　　政府今年调整民事服务薪金时，并未提高教师月薪，而是在年中分发一笔总数相等于0.8个月至1.35个月的薪酬作为调整。

　　今年初，教育部推出“教师专业与个人发展配套”（GROW package），从今年起拨2亿5000万元，在今后三年调整教师待遇、提升专业水平和提高专业辅助计划。

　　吕德耀说，即将宣布的教师薪金制不仅让表现优异的教师升职加薪，也会在“教师专业与个人发展配套”的基础上进一步改善全体教师的福利。

　　他说，尽管经济表现强劲，但教育部招聘教师的反应良好，“虽然离职人数比往年稍多，但这也不让人意外”。

　　他指出，按目前的教师应聘情况，教育部将可实现2010年教师阵容3万人的目标。

It's the fifteenth day of the month again. Haha. 2nd month.

Anyway.

I have been feeling both happy and sad for the past few weeks. ARGH. But,thanks to ---- ---- for cheering me up. I know u are always there for me! In fact,---- ---- does not have to say anything;his physical presence is already enough to make me feel secure and safe. Thank u!

AHHHHHHH! So many of my friends are going or have already gone overseas for holiday. I SO BADLY WANNA GO TOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! But sad to say,i have to remain in sunny rainy Xin Jia Po cause i don't know where to go. DUH! I took one week's leave for nothing. -___-

Anyway. I am going to the Bookfest at Suntec later. Woohoo! I LOVE books. ^_^ Especially assessment books. I am going to buy assessment books for my tuition kids. Yeah! Oh,and i need to buy 3 Christmas presents and a dress(for my cousin's wedding later this month). Haiz. No money leh! The year-end bonus is really NOT ENOUGH lorrrrrrr. *shakes head* BUT,i am glad that i don't owe Mum money for my digital camera anymore. Yay!

18 more days to school reopens. Sian. I better treasure my beauty sleep for the next 18 days.

Oooh.....4 more days and i will know which school Tutee no 1 is posted to! I hope she gets into Nan Hua. She hopes so too!

I am feeling so helpless now.

Troubled over 2 matters - the health of someone close to me,and i miss Dear badly. Darn. Today is only the first day that he's away in another country and i already miss him so much. Howamigoingtohandlethenextfewdayswithouthim? Just reading his smses alone made me tear. I think i am so useless.

Nevertheless,i am glad and grateful that time passed quite fast today.

Last night,Dear and i took a few pics together for the 2nd time. I love the pics so much.
